The Lock-Up Poems for Wendy Sharpe

On 10 September 2026, The Lock-Up art gallery held a collaboration with Pocketbook literary journal, inviting local poets to respond to a major solo exhibition by Wendy Sharpe AM, Into the Dark. The exhibition is a bold, major solo exhibition at the pinnacle of Wendy Sharpe’s practice, featuring new commissions, a live-painted mural and immersive labyrinthine installations.

I presented two poems at the exhibition, in the historic exercise yard of the galley (a former gaol built to support the old police station next door, now the post office). Thank you to Alex Morris for the photo below, who also delivered a poem :)
